“If something doesn’t feel right, [don’t] be satisfied with a dismissal” – Kylie Rankin, Women’s Health Practitioner

Women’s health is an issue that, unfortunately, often flies under the radar. Many have found themselves in situations where their illnesses, such as endometriosis and ovarian cancer, are misdiagnosed or minimised, which just makes everything worse for those suffering. With women’s health less likely to be seen to and properly treated, Wavelength set out to discover whether we are actually taking the issue seriously. To find out more, we spoke with a number of people who have struggled to be properly diagnosed, along with practitioner Kylie Rankin about how women can better inform themselves. We also had a couple of callers share their important stories.

Meanwhile, Wavelength spoke to Adelaide’s very own Dave Court, an artist creating some major waves through his murals and photography, and is even responsible for the 2020 Adelaide Fringe Festival branding. He told us a bit about his story. Also on the show, do you ever hear about clinical trials asking you to give up your time in return for pay or even free Netflix? Would you participate in a trial like that? We hit the streets of Adelaide to get your thoughts.
