If you’ve been on social media at all in recent years, no doubt you will have noticed the growing number of influencers spruiking products and services online. But what’s it actually like to be an influencer?

It’s something many of us can only dream of. Being paid to promote items on social media and actually making enough to live off. Businesses and marketing places are increasingly using influencers for their campaigns, and for a good reason. Recent statistics have revealed almost 70% of Aussies use social media to research stuff they’re looking to buy. Being an influencer also means you can mean build your own personal brand, but is it all it’s cracked up to be? What is life as a social media influencer actually like?

Wavelength sat down with aurora_bnz, an Adelaide-based Instagram personality, about her experience as an influencer.
