“Almost three in five Australians are spending more than 20% of their household income on food” – Mark Finlay, Food Hub coordinator

All to often, many people fall into poverty, with no way to pay for basics, such as food. But there are increasing attempts to help these people out.

Over 4 Million Australians are struggling to put food on the table, with food security issues becoming ever more prevalent. Nearly 3 in 5 Aussies are spending more than 20% of their income on food, with concerns that even children are being impacted. In response, Baptist Care SA has joined up with Foodbank SA to help assist these people. They’ve opened up a Food Hub right here in Adelaide, with the aim of providing cheap and easily accessible food to those in need. There are even ways you can help out.

Wavelength sat down with Mark Finlay, the Food Hub Coordinator, about the new initiative to help those going hungry.
