Fans of last year’s Fringe event Royal Croquet Club will be delighted to hear it is returning in 2015 bigger and better than before. It’ll take over the whole of Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga host over 50 shows across 7 venues and welcome 175 artists. There’s more choice than you can throw a hipster cocktail jam jar at with everything from comedy and acrobatics to hypnotism, dance and burlesque lined up.
We were lucky enough to get a glimpse of the world-class selection when we attended the official launch at Little Miss Miami’s Crab Shack. Sasha Zahra and Louise Clarke, RCC’s super experienced production team, were on hand to present us with their picks for 2015. Here’s a tiny snippet:
Hot Brown Honey – The Brisbane based Hip Hop, comedy, dance, poetry, strip ensemble (phew), winners of the inaugural Adelaide Fringe Cultural Award, will get tongues wagging when their assortment of beauties hit the RCC.
Bromance – The frenetically, pugnaciously, awkwardly fun UK circus company will make their Australian premiere of their multi-award winning show.
Meow Meow – The Australian international superstar who can sing just about anything in any pose or position will be back to terrify and exhilarate her fans with her exceptional voice and boundary-less talent.
There’ll be DJ’s and dance music every Friday and Saturday night in the shape of Panama Social Club, 80’s throwback PeterBaeckerLive will be offering up retro stylings with his crazy-ass party and the square will become a giant maze/performance piece with Dotmaze: Get Lost; Fringe faves Dandyman, Leo and Soap will all be back too.
This one’s going to be big!
RCC will run Feb 13th – Mar 15th tix from Fringe Tix
