Imagine playing a set in the open air on a warm Adelaide night, overlooking the Torrens. You’re playing your own tracks, and people are loving it. This doesn’t have to be a daydream; the Adelaide Festival Centre’s River Deck venue will be hosting a series of live performances for every Friday and Saturday night of January (2015). The concept is to bring some new flavour to city nightlife with these “Summer Sessions on the Deck”. The only ingredient missing is you!

The folks at the Festival Centre are looking for artists to fill the sets, and “proposals for electro and DJ sets are welcome”. Successful applicants will generally be booked for two sets of 30-40 minutes each. The gigs are paid (yes, PAID!), and are a great way to get your music out there. There are a few stipulations, so here’s a short list for you to read before you consider applying:

  1. Performers must be solo, a duo, or (at maximum) a trio. Larger groups will not be considered
  2. Drum kits are not allowed
  3. Acts will preferably be Lo-fi and laid back in style (so probably not that dubstep track you’ve been working on!)

Adelaide Festival Centre will be providing a PA and a sound operator, which should make for an easy setup. If you can see yourself laying down some beats on the River Deck this summer, click on the link below and submit your application before Monday, 30th November.
