We’re back again with another big list of tunes to put on your radar this summer!
Martin Jensen Feat. Bjornskov – Somebody I’m Not
In October, Danish DJ, Martin Jensen celebrated an unfathomable 1 billion streams on Spotify. Fast forward a month later and he has released his latest single ‘Somebody I’m Not’, which is in collaboration with Danish singer Peter Bjørnskov. Showing its relevance to current day society, Jensen’s lyrics explore social status and individuals’ obsessive nature with fame and social media presence. While the song has an incredibly important message about authenticity, it also combines his two notable elements of electronic dance and pop making it a killer tune. Jensen was also named in the top 10 for DJ MAG’s best DJs in the world, which is an absolute stellar accomplishment. On top of this, he has been credited this for the third year in a row, becoming the only Danish DJ to do so. If this doesn’t make you a little curious to listen to his new song ‘Somebody I’m Not’, I don’t know what will.
Midtown Jack Feat. Matiah – Let You Down
More local talent this week, yes please! Adelaide’s Midtown Jack have released ‘Let You Down’, which is an absolute floor filler in collaboration with Matiah. Safe to say that this is a song well worth a listen (or 10), with angelic vocals from Matiah being the perfect addition to Midtown Jack’s unique exploration of the electronic scene. He has also co-signed with M4SONIC, Uberjakd and more artists over his career, all whilst keeping busy by gracing his audience with energetic and captivating performances. If he isn’t out performing, Midtown Jack is here at Fresh hosting his own show ‘The Session’, which promotes up and coming artists, as well as continually celebrating industry legends. Matiah is also a favourite at Fresh as a valuable addition to the production sector. Two true multi-talented artists that we have a bit of a soft spot for here, and you readers should certainly get on board!
Juice WRLD – Armed And Dangerous
The Chicago based rapper has impressed yet again, with his new tune ‘Armed and Dangerous’. The tune by Juice WRLD, who is heading to Falls Festival this New Year period, is a hard beat which incorporates melody and lyrical talent. The 19-year-old rapper is also not one to stay out of the press, with Sting threatening to sue over the track ‘Lucid Dreams’ for the interpolation of his 1993 song ‘Shape of My Heart’. Juice WRLD, aka Jarad Higgins, suddenly came onto everyone’s radar when he signed a deal with Interscope that was allegedly to the worth of three million dollars, all before he had released any of his music onto Spotify or Apple Music. To think all this has happened in the last 6-months alone is extraordinary, and certainly sets him up for a genuine future in the music scene.
Kronic Feat. Masn – Look My Way
Another talent on our list of tunes this week is Adelaide’s very own, Kronic. Now residing in L.A, Kronic launched is career alongside electronic duo Bombs Away as a member of their live band, and has certainly had an impressive career since then. He’s toured across the world and taken his festival vibe to both small and large venues. Now, his new song ‘Look My Way’ featuring Masn has arrived, and we reckon it’s well worth a listen. One thing is for sure, we hope to see him back in Adelaide soon for a cheeky visit.
Robin Schulz Feat. Erika Sirola – Speechless
German DJ, Robin Schulz, is back (thank god) with his new single ‘Speechless’. You may remember Schulz from his iconic remixes of ‘Waves’ and ‘Prayer In C’, which both went #1 across Europe. Finnish singer Erika Sirola is also the featured artist in Schulz’s new tune, who sings about love at first sight and charms her audience with details of sudden romance. ‘Speechless’ also features an incredibly smooth beat that is easy to listen to, and is accompanied by a SUPER wholesome music video that shows a man’s tireless effort to gain a girl’s attention. Have a peek of it below! Another great track by Robin Schulz, is anyone really surprised?
ShockOne Feat. Cecil – Underloved
Perth producer ShockOne is back again with new tune ‘Underloved’, and yes, it’s a good one (of course). Lifting the song to the another level after a minute long heavy and building beat, UK’s Cecil’s vocals are instrumental in the songs appeal, which is also important in adding a different tone to the dark beat. ShockOne has also been busy after performing at Fresh’s 20th Birthday Bash celebrations earlier this year, and is now bracing for his own headlining tour through New Zealand. It doesn’t stop there, with ShockOne also going on tour with UK’s The Prodigy in the coming months. Definitely a tune to pop on your playlist for the coming months!
