Movement Electronic Music Festival is celebrating the best of Adelaide’s huge legacy of music production: empowering the scene for locals, by locals.
Movement wants to bring together electronic artists to share and experience each other’s work in a total creative environment in surprising and unusual ways, combining soundscape with visual environment through projection, installation and performance art. In short: it’s a creative, different way to celebrate Adelaide’s electronic music scene, past and present! The event kicks off with a Fresh Air Open House forum, supported by Fresh 92.7, to encourage discussion and a knowledge-based appreciation of the form, the industry, and music production.
There’s a huge array of names involved. Tom Cotter, Cathy Adamek and Phil Hardy lead the charge, collaborating with Futuresounds Adelaide, Speakeasy Electro Swing Adelaide, Outsiders & Ashcats Soundsystem. DJs and artists playing on the night include Untzz Twelve Inch, Damien Donato (Juice Records), DJ Delta, James Curd, Phil Rogers, Ben Smith, Joshua Pathon, Angus Sanders and many more.
The event is a spiritual sister to Percussions, the warehouse party from a few years back which similarly combined art and music for a pretty amazing experience. Movement Electronic Music Festival is set to be just as great an experience, so make sure you come along and support!
