One of South Australia’s most important clubs/venues is set to close at the end of 2016. HQ Complex, housed in the historic Newmarket Hotel and adjoining buildings on the corner of North and West Terrace is a focal point for thousands of clubbers and live music fans each week. The decision to put the location up for sale has made been made in light of the development of the new Royal Adelaide Hospital directly across from the buildings on North Terrace. Although the club has continued to operate successfully hosting a range of major music acts including Snoop Dogg, Rudimental, Dash Berlin, Netsky and Rufus (to name just a few), General Manager Stephen Rose commented to the media that management felt they would not make a great neighbour to the new hospital so it was time to put the venue on the market. The site is earmarked for closure at the end of 2016 and the operators plan to continue to welcome music fans until then.
