Do yourself a favour and sit down for a history lesson in house music from one of the genre’s pioneers, Louie Vega.

Vega is one of the most esteemed names in the industry and he remains an inspiration to waves of up-and-comers.

This week, he took the time to speak with our very own Reelax, detailing his journey from the housing projects of New York City to bringing his own record label to prominence.

Little Louie speaks of his partnership with the other half of Masters at Work, Kenny Dope, and explains the toil of 18-hour production days in the early times of mixing.

He credits the ‘melting pot of people and different sounds’ in his own neighbourhood as a reason for his success.
