Just when you thought the Fringe was enough to keep you entertained, the Superloop Adelaide 500 is right around the corner as it will begin this Thursday! Over four days, the formerly known Clipsal 500 will provide plenty of thrills as cars race by on a shortened former Formula One Grand Prix circuit. However, the Superloop has plenty on offer throughout the weekend with events for the whole family. Here are some highlights to explore and consider, but make sure to have a look at the full event program here.
Virgin Australia Supercars, Dunlop Super2 Series, Porsche Carerra Cup Australia, Trans Am Series, and the Stadium Super Trucks. But as the weekend continues, the Qualifying and Trophy Races will bring someone to a victory on Sunday. During the weekend, there are also demonstrations from army vehicles, Formula 1 racing cars, and historic Brabham F1 vintage cars.
Tracks of the World
When you want to take a break from the on-track action and a spot to hang out with mates, Tracks of the World provides a terrific off-track experience as you will get to see a wide variety of cars on display from different countries. Some of the cars include a Mobil Peter Brock VL Commodore and a Peter Brock VC Group C Commodore, Aston Martin, Bentley, and Jaguar displays, a Lola T700 Indy Car that raced at the 1983 Indianapolis 500, a Ferrari 458 and 6 Drag Racers, courtesy of the South Australian Drag Racing Association.
You’ll also get to experience different food and drink cultures dedicated to famous race tracks, including Indianapolis, Le Mans, Monaco, Nürburgring, and two new additions of Silverstone and Suzuka.
Once the races are over, the After-Race Concert will keep the night going as it will host some homegrown and interstate acts, including Grinspoon and Sneaky Sound System on Friday and Pete Murray and Sheppard on Saturday.
To wrap up the Superloop Adelaide 500 weekend, Sunday has some absolute bangers at the After-Race Concert, with performances by Dress Code, Dead Roo and Outside Lines, as well as some sets by Aussie icons like G Flip from 6:55 pm to 7:55 pm and Illy from 8 pm to 9 pm. And to bring the whole weekend to a close, Hilltop Hoods will perform from 9:15 pm to 12 am.
