If you would describe yourself as an aspiring or an up and coming music artist wanting to further develop your skills and your career, Meet the Locals is the event for you.

Hosted by the APRA AMCOS, Meet the Locals is a series of national events that provides songwriters across the country to be able to expand their networks with established industry professionals or even fellow songwriters.

This year’s expanded format includes a masterclass/ expert panel, ‘speed dating’-style small group sessions, and ample networking time. If you have burning questions in specific areas like funding opportunities, publishing, touring, industry advocacy, or even self-management and pitching songs to media, you will not be disappointed.

“Meet the Locals brings together industry pros with songwriters of all career levels and fosters new business and creative connections for everyone involved,” says Andrew Tuttle, Team Leader – National Engagement at APRA AMCOS.
“Helping members to navigate a competitive industry and learn more about its inner-workings is a crucial part of what APRA AMCOS does.”

Some of the industry reps you can meet at the event are Alana Jagt of APRA AMCOS, Emily Tulloch of Nexus Arts, Emma Coyle of Sundial Productions, Lewis Wundenberg of Wondenbergs Recording Studio, Luke Penman of Play, Pause, Play, Sharni Honour of The Porch Sessions, Suzanne Derry of Arts Law, Tom Gordon of Music SA and our very own Zane Dean of Fresh 92.7.

Meet the Locals, SA edition, will take place on the 16th of February (Saturday) from 11:40am to 4pm at Carclew Ballroom, North Adelaide. The event is free, so take this opportunity to spend a Saturday arvo expanding your horizons and taking the next step to your music career.
