So I imagine that if you took your parents, grandparents or relatives to see Bohemian Rhapsody recently, they may be riding off a 70’s/ 80’s rock high. Well, if you’re wanting to match that high this year and have the means to give the Ultimate Mother’s Day or Christmas present, look no further than Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, which will make its pathway to Adelaide in early December.

After his five-decade career, Elton John recently announced that he will be performing in Australia and New Zealand as apart of his MASSIVE final tour, which kicked off in the USA September 2018.

As part of the AU tour, Elton John will reportedly be visiting 15 cities across the country, starting in November 2019 and finishing February 2020. It is expected that the tour will have him go across five continents and perform 300 shows in total, with the tour ending sometime in 2021. As far as retirement parties go, it’s quite extravagant to say the least.

The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour has already been praised as one of his most “energetic, dazzlingly-original and joyful celebrations”. He has performed fan favourites including ‘Tiny Dancer’ & ‘Rocket Man’ and the concert features unseen footage from his career, paying as the ultimate tribute for the 71 year old singer/ songwriter.

“I always love coming back to Australia,” John says of the tour. “Ever since my first visit in 1971 it has held a very special place in my heart.”

The last time Elton John came to Australia in 2017, he unfortunately missed out on Adelaide, so if there was ever a time to take your Mum or Gran to see the real deal without having to travel interstate, there is no better opportunity than later this year.

Elton John will be performing his Farewell Yellow Brick Tour in Adelaide on Wednesday the 4th of December at the Botanic Park.
