Feast Festival is HERE and these events are a MUST November 14, 2019 Painting the town in all things glitter, glitter (and more glitter), Feast Festival celebrates Adelaide’s LGBTIQ community. Sprinkled throughout the month of November, the non-for-profit Queer Arts and Cultural Festival provides an exciting and fun opportunity for the pride community to express themselves through arts and culture. Feast is the 3rd largest LGBTIQ festival in the country and with over 70 events, there’s plenty of entertainment and fun for everyone! I mean, we’re not called the Festival State for nothing. So, here are five AMAZING events that should definitely be on your list: DRAGAPALOOZA (18+) Hosted at the almighty Mary’s Poppin, this is one night you do not want to miss out on. Mary’s is home to the drag show, but there’s nothing quite like this and it is back for its second edition! DRAGAPALOOZA is the mega-show filled with all your fave SA Drag QUEENSSSS. The show is also audio described for blind and vision impaired audience members, so everyone has the chance to enjoy. WHEN: Friday, 15th November (yes tomorrow!!) WHERE: Mary’s Poppin TICKETS: $10 Feast Comedy Debate (15+) A debate with a queer twist. If you love a good discussion with plenty of laughs this is for you. This year’s Met Gala theme, gender neutral clothes and the use of the word ‘YAS’… there’s a similar theme here; how straight society is adopting the queer culture. The Feast Comedy Debate explores this and will showcase some of the funniest minds in the Feast Festival for a debate where the audience decides the outcome. WHEN: Wednesday, 20th November, 7pm-late WHERE: Rhino Room TICKETS: $27 or $24 House of Dance (18+) Hosted at the West Oak, House of Dance is a night that celebrates the electronic dance music community. The inclusive event will host the likes of DJ TR!P, Milk Paste and Lukky K, where the backstage crew will work with real-time technology and video art to provide insane visuals. There will be technology giveaways, tempting cocktail specials and much more. WHEN: Saturday, 23rd November, 9pm WHERE: West Oak Hotel TICKETS: $25 or $22 Picnic in the Park Feast’s annual community picnic is the perfect way to spend your Sunday arvo and evening. A relaxing day spent with friends, family and of course your four-legged friends. Located on the open parklands of Pinky Flat, expect to see a variety of food and bar stalls, a chance to play volleyball or shuttlecock, and live music by a number of DJs providing your fave party anthems. There will also be a tattoo competition, Queer Youth Zone, a Drag Fashion Show and much more.
