There is nothing quite like girl power – Am I right ladies???
We understand each other on another level, like how frustrated we get when that toilet seat is left up, and our excitement when Priceline has a 50% off store wide sale (possibly our idea of absolute heaven!) And when we come together, we can do some pretty amazing things.
Returning for its second year in a row, Flip-Side is an Adelaide exclusive music and arts festival that celebrates our epic local female talent.
The event spans over two jam-packed days, running from Saturday the 6th until Sunday the 7th of July. And better yet, it is going to be held across three of Adelaide’s funkiest venues! All located next to each other on the same block, the 90-year-old rustic warehouse, Chateau Apollo, the lush green outdoor bar setting of Roxie’s, and everyone’s favourite hipster pub, the Crown and Anchor, will open up into a hub of wild events and live music.
Get ready for this unique experience, with experimental psych vibes on Saturday night and a chilled Sunday sesh with a whole line-up of live music and, of course food for your gob, thanks to Roxie’s Garden Bar.
Expect good tunes, live music from dance and electronic to indie and pop, visual arts, live painting, as well as creative workshops where you can make some, let’s just say ‘interesting’ plant pots.
And, even better…. some of the profits gained from Flip-Side Festival will go to Girls Rock! Adelaide, a non-for-profit youth organisation that encourages creative expression and diversity in Australia’s music scene.
The festival is organised by local musician, Susan Evans, and will include a visual arts exhibition curated by Timothea Moylan.
A festival created by locals and featuring locals – what better way to spend a weekend than to celebrate our great state’s talented females?
