Live Live on air / 00:00 - 00:00 Song title - Artist

Review by Austin Frape

Follow the tracks of the old Adelaide to Melbourne rail line to discover the immersive projections.

Calling South Australian history and train buffs, the Sleep's Hill Tunnel is ready for business! Well, at least to walk around rather than actually ride a train. But this experience is just as entertaining!

In a historical moment for South Australia, the old Sleep's Hill Tunnel is open to the public for the first time in 150 years. As a collaborative project between the Adelaide Fringe and Illuminate Adelaide, the tunnel offers an immersive experience that utilises the space for projections and displays. The displays include work from artist Stephen Axford, which features timelapse footage of mushrooms and a mirror room. There's a lot to take in across the 60 minutes, but please do go at your own pace!

Owner Dave Munroe begins the tour with the history of the tunnel, describing the steam train era to the mushroom farm years. The details were very informative and engaging, even offering details of some recent restorations.

Overall, Sleep's Hill Tunnel was an impressive look at South Australian history and the old train lines. If you're down south and love trains, I can definitely recommend giving the show a look.
