Here down under, we don’t get to experience that classic dreamy winter full of snow and ice-skating rinks.
Lucky for us, Glenelg and Victoria Square are transforming into the winter wonderland’s we can only dream of and it comes just in time for the school holidays!
WINTER WONDERLAND AT MOSELEY SQAURE
Returning for another year, Winter Wonderland, will convert Moseley Square and Jetty Road into a fun-filled area of wintery activities.
For three weeks, from June 28th until the 22nd of July, Adelaide’s favourite beach will offer a huge 450 square metre ice rink for you to gracefully (more like awkwardly) glide on. But hey, we can practice our skills for when we go to the real thing in Central Park…one day.
It’s being held in a clear, weatherproof marquee so it will run in rain, hail or shine, and an added bonus – you’ll be looking over those majestic sea views.
You can enjoy a one-hour skating session between 10am and 8pm from Sunday to Thursday with additional 8:30pm sessions on Friday and Saturday nights. A perfect date night or family day out. Prices range from $11.00 for children up to $38.50 for a family package.
A taboggan slide will also be installed in the square which will be a big hit for the kiddies and is only $15 for three rides! Absolute bargain.

Ice skating returns to the Bay these school holidays 🙌 Grab your mates and strap on some skates because Winter Wonderland is back for its 6th year from Friday 28 June – Monday 22 July ❄️⛸ Enjoy the all weather, clear-domed marquee beachside! You’ll see the sky and the sea as you skate undercover on the ice rink. Kids will love the toboggan slide. To celebrate our 6th year 🎉 we are hosting an opening night Twilight Disco Party with DJ @filipwithanf • Book now link in bio @jettyrdglenelg
SKATING AT VICTORIA SQUARE
If you’re looking for something more central, we have you covered! The Skating At Festival is making it’s way to Victoria Square and will sprinkle it’s wintery magic over the CBD precinct.
Occurring from June 28th until July 21st, you will be immersed in a world of true enchantment, with an open-air ice rink, numerous rides, entertainment and mouth-watering food and drink stalls.
- Open-air ice-skating rink
- Riding an inflatable tube down an icy slope
- Large inflatable slide
- Ferris wheel
- Bouncy castle
Entry into the area is free, but activities require a ticket. Booking a ticket early, especially for the ice-skating sessions, is recommended as they sell out quickly. These can be purchased on site or online here.
