We know we’ve spoken about the Fringe quite a lot, I mean who can blame us!? We’re just too damn excited!

And this year it is guaranteed to be bigger and better than ever! With the new and improved RCC Fringe ready to blow our minds for a whole showstopping month, the festivities are now expanding into the suburbs, coming to Plant 4 Bowden located on the outskirts of the city.

The old Clipsal building turned epic market and eatery precinct will play host to some of the Fringe’s most amusing acts, family friendly shows and of course some free live music!

Occurring for one weekend ONLY during the March long weekend (between the 8th and 10th of March) this exciting new development by Bamboozled Productions will bring the much-anticipated Fringe festivities to the inner western suburbs.

“As the Adelaide Fringe continues to expand, it’s important to find new spaces to move into and Bowden Park is a perfect venue for this,” Bamboozled Productions director, Louise Clarke says.

This brand new Adelaide Fringe Hub will host both free and ticketed events, with the ticketed program to be held in the performance tent, The Parlour.

You can expect to see performances from UK comedian Eleanor Conway, international dance comedians Lords of Strut, local multi-instrumentalise Adam Page and many more, as well as a number of day-time family events and shows.

Visitors can also have a taste of Bowden life as the Plant 4 in-house eateries, including Nutrition Republic and Cheese-a-holics, will operate as normal across all three days (Friday 5-9pm, Saturday 9-3pm and Sunday 9-3pm). The renowned markets at the hub will continue to run simultaneously with the Bowden Fringe on Friday evening (5-9pm) and Saturday (9-3pm), so you can treat yourself to some cute market treasures as well!

Shane Wingard, Renewal SA Project Director for Bowden, says:

“We’re so excited to be bringing a whole weekend of Fringe fun to the Bowden Community, for the first time… we have a diverse community and the program reflects that; it has something for everyone, from day to night. Combine this with delicious, unique delicacies from our friends at Plant 4, and we can’t imagine anywhere else you’d rather be.”

Set to be one of the best innovations of the Fringe to date, and only a free tram ride away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you better be sure to set a date in your calendar!

There’s no better place to be this March long weekend and tickets are only available at the door on the day. For further info and program details, head to the Bowden Fringe Facebook event page.
