The ARIA’S is known as being Australia’s music night of nights. And boy, are we set for a big one this year!

There is no doubt that us Aussies produce some quality tunes and this event celebrates the best in Australian music, as well as recognising upcoming artists for the amazing tunes they produce.

Among the number of artists nominated are Aussie faves and regular Fresh sounds Hilltop Hoods and RÜFÜS DU SOL who are both up for Album Of The Year and Best Group (yeah boiiiii).

But absolutely dominating this year’s ARIA Awards is newcomer to the Australian music scene Tones and I, with a staggering eight nominations her way including Song of the Year, Best Female Artist and Best Pop Release.

With her chart-topping hit Dance Monkey from her debut EP The Kids Are Coming, the 19-year-old Byron Bay busker has definitely smashed the nominations out of the park and you can catch her live at the 2020 Laneway Festival!

With her unique vocals mixed with a killer up-beat soundtrack, Dance Monkey has broken an ARIA charts record by being an Australian song with most weeks at no. 1, surpassing Justice Crew’s Que Sara with 10 weeks at the top and counting.

From living in her van and quitting her job to be a busk on the streets of Byron, the female artist (real name, Toni Watson) has definitely kick-started her music career in a BIG way, also claiming no. 1 in seven other countries including the UK.

Our resident Adelaide boys from the Hilltop Hoods aren’t far behind her though, scoring an amazing seven nominations, with RÜFÜS DU SOL also having three chances of gaining a category win.

Best Dance Release also sees some of our faves on the list, including old mate FISHER with Your Little Beauty, Peking Duk & Jack River with Sugar, PNAU with Solid Gold and RÜFÜS DU SOL with Solace.
