If Kyle Sandilands landed a hip and shoulder on Kasey Chambers, who would come off second best? Could Jimmy Barnes handle a ruck duel with Grant Denyer? Can Ben even kick a footy?
At least one of these three questions will be answered during the 2015 Reclink Community Cup, where musicians will take on media personalities in the quest for football glory. The Reclink Cup has been an institution in the eastern states for over 20 years, but it’s coming to Adelaide for the first time this year. You’ll get to see some of your favourite Freshies lining up for the Adelaide Anchors to take on the might of the The Rockatoos‘ musicians. It’s got Fresh927 hosts, it’s got musicians, it’s got footy – what more could you want?
The Reclink Cup is an incredible charity event that helps raise money for Reclink – an organisation that helps people to rebuild their lives through sport and music programs. In the past, these annual matches have pulled crowds of up to 14,000, and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars. We reckon Adelaide can have a serious crack at topping those numbers.
The match will take place at Norwood Oval – the home of the mighty Redlegs – on Sunday August 16th. It’s going to be a fantastic day for the whole family, and it’s all for a great cause, so get along and cheer on your Fresh927 faves as they show off their football prowess (or lack thereof) at one of the best football grounds in the state.
Our prediction: Anchors by 6 goals.
