Lastlings – Urges (The Kite String Tangle Remix)
Time to give into your ‘Urges’ and wrap your ears around this new track! Brother and sister duo LASTLINGS have surely been on your banger radar if not get ready to add another amazing Australian act to your favourites. Hailing from the Gold Coast, the duo has signed with Exist Recordings which is the label of well-known producer The Kite String Tangle who will be playing FOMO in Adelaide this January. With previous hits such as Arcadia (2014) along with The Kite String Tangle’s ‘The Prize’ (2017) ‘Urges’ is sure to please. ‘Urges’ is sharp with icy synths and has a strong focus on the celestial vocals of Amy Dowdle, one half of the duo. However the break and instrumental at the end is a sweet way to close the song.
Matrix and Futurebound Feat. Raphaella – Human
2017 has been a massive year for English drum and bass duo with a tour schedule that has seen them traverse to all corners of the globe playing a mixture of clubs and massive festivals. To cap of the year Matrix and Futurebound have teamed up with Raphaella to release their new track ‘Human’. With bangers like ‘Happy Alone’ (2015) and ‘Control’ (2014) along with four consecutive top 30 UK songs between 2012 and 2014 the new track is guaranteed to be a banger! ‘Human’ is energetic from start to finish, Emotive vocals pairs well with powerful synths and an explosive drop that sure to get you moving. Straight fire!
Pauls Paris Feat. Moses York – Make Your Mind Up (Axwell and New-ID Remode)
A song that took 7 years to develop has to be something special! This new track sees a mixture of Australian and International DJ’s which include Pauls Paris (Syd), New_ID (NED), Moses York(US) and Axwell (SWE) team up to create a modern house anthem that is energetic but has enough quality to become a timeless classic. The track started off in 2010 as a demo sent from Paul Paris to Axwell’s label, Axtone. From there the track has been mixed, remixed and touched by many talented DJ’s to produce the track that we are introducing to you today. This new tune is a representation of old school Swedish progressive house with thumping basslines, tribal drums and euphoric trancy synths which pairs perfectly with the funky disco vocals. This massive house track is guaranteed to be an instant classic.
Sirah Feat. Skrillex – Deadbeat
Skrillex is no stranger to hit songs, with his massive hit ‘Bangarang’ (with Sirah) in 2012 and ‘Would You Ever’ (with Poo Bear) in 2017/ Skrillex has placed himself as one of the top DJ/Producers in the industry. Sirah is a female rapper from New York who started from humble beginnings, living in her car in her teenage/early twenties while working at a café during the day and recording her debut ep at night. This time she collabs with Skrillex again to release her new single ‘Deadbeat’, on the track Skrillex provides a solid backing hip hop beat to Sirah’s flawless vocal. The track is energetic, boppy and different from Skrillex’s usual beat but still shares the same production quality that his known for.
Tritonal Feat. Laurell – Good Thing
Let’s take a trip to the US for this next track by Tritonal Feat. Laurell. Tritonal are a male DJ duo from Texas and Laurell is a female singer form Canada. They have teamed up to release ‘Good Thing’ which also happens to be the 300th track release for the label that Tritonal co-own called Enhanced Recordings. “Good Thing” is a feel good track that is uplifting without being forced; it’s a laidback beat that pairs well with the Laurell positive lyrics. It’s a tune that aims to make you feel good and the feel good vibe is a kind of celebration for the 300th song on the label. So if you feeling down, this track will definitely lift your spirits!
Peking Duk Feat. Icona Pop – Let You Down
What can be said about Peking Duk!? Two male Aussie DJs who hail from our little capital of Canberra who have become amazing hit makers and international stars in their own right. With absolute bangers like ‘Fake Magic’ (with Aluna George) (2017) and ‘Stranger’ (with Elliphant) (2016) this single ‘Let You Down’ is going to be another hit. Teaming up with well-known Swedish electro-pop duo Icona Pop with vocals from Peking Duk’s very own Adam Hyde, the new single is euphoric and features a beat that is quintessentially Peking Duk. The track is a modern break up song with lyrics about break ups over a catchy beat. It’s track that is catchy and peak Peking Duk.
