DJ Gary Neilson

Gary, although South Australian, was born in the UK, and has been involved with music for many years .

As a teenager he worked as a Lighting and Sound Technician with local bands, and through designing his own systems soon found himself touring with some of the bigger bands about at that time and as a natural progression, he got involved with stage pyrotechnics. This turned out to be his chosen profession for quite a number of years , allowing him to travel the world doing synchronised firework displays to music.

It was through the Pyrotechnics that he ended up coming to Australia. He realised that there was a call for designing the control systems for firing the bigger shows, and, after being asked to build one, realised it was a very similar system to a DJ mixing system.

Over the last four or five years he has come to the forefront in DJ system design and has also showed how good he is in what he has personally achieved music-wise.

Gary does regular mixes for radio and internet, as well as his own music production. He dedicates much of his time searching new tracks, looking for future chart music and particularly loves Electro/House and Euro/Trance which comes across very much in his mixes.

Gary has played at most of the larger venues in adelaide at some stage but concentrates more these days on producing mixes, but is also happy to play live sets at venues.
