If you’re a musician or producer it’s a tough world out there. The competition is fierce, money can be thin on the ground and getting the opportunity to shine and live your art can be a difficult and taxing proposition. That’s why SA’s Music Development Office is fighting hard to offer aspiring musicians and performers as many opportunities as they can, they’re in your corner. They’re behind initiatives including the Robert Stigwood Fellowship Program (who’ve awarded grants to the likes of Tkay Maidza and Luke Million) so they know talent when they see it.

To help things along, applications are now open for the next round of Contemporary Music Grants. This is your opportunity to apply for funding so that you can move your dreams into reality. Grants are available to assist muso’s in all aspects of music and performance including Recording, Touring (national & international), Marketing, Music & Skills Development, Festival and Venues.

Applications are open until April 15th and are available to fund activity for work after 1st of July 2016. If this interests you then there’s loads more info on their FAQ’s page so head on over there for all the details.
