DIRECTOR-JAY ANTONEY
Jay started work at a very young age and has worked and volunteered for many companies and youth organisations across Adelaide. Joining Fresh in mid 2008, Jay has quickly integrated himself into all aspects of the station, showing his passion for the station loud and proud. Jay’s passion for music and management started while volunteering with the Carclew Youth Arts centre, helping in the running of a, then, very large and popular Youth Music event ‘Off the Couch’ – a music festival aimed at bringing local, unsigned artists to the forefront of the Australian music scene by running events in line with meetings held in Adelaide where important decision-makers of large record labels were involved.
The roles Jay held during these events included event management, setup, running and packing up the events, aiding in liaising with government and private departments and funding bodies to secure funding for the events, coordinating the website and helping with the distribution of flyers and details of the event.
With a strong IT background, Jay brings to Fresh a wealth of knowledge and skills to help both the Tech and IT teams. Jay’s willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to change has seen him become an integral part of these teams as well as an important part of the Outside Broadcasts unit and since January 2009, the Management Committee and subsequently, the Board. Jay currently works in the IT field and hopes to continue to help Fresh get closer to being the biggest community radio station in Australia.
